Colindy Labs

Colindy Labs is a small hobby kennel in southern Arizona started by two friends, Elaine DeLucia and Helen Wilson.  We met when we first delved into the world of dog shows.  Elaine was showing her yellow boy, Colin, and I was showing my black boy, Indy.  After spending a couple of years trying to convince ourselves we would never be breeders...along came Darla.  And you can't be a breeder without a kennel name.  So we took the plunge and, combining our two boys, we became Colindy Labs.

We have been extremely fortunate in meeting people that have helped us along our way.  Karen Turner of Amethyst Labradors and Theresa Tuttle of Sundancer Labradors were the first.  Elaine co-owns Colin with Karen.  I had purchased two labs from Theresa, the most handsomest Dirk and his sister, Jet.  Jet went on to live with my son and daughter-in-law, and Dirk became my husband's hunting buddy.  So when Theresa bred her Cassie to Karen's Admiral once again, I had to get another one of these fabulous dogs...and along came Indy.

During this time we had the pleasure of meeting Terri McFadden (Ms T's Labradors), Janet Schoonover (Char-Don Labradors), Duke and Tina Donahue (Quail Chase Labradors), Susan Tsoi (Rockhaven Labradors) just to name a few.  Susan sold me Stryder, who would become our first champion, and what a ride he gave us!  We were hooked! Janet and Terri entrusted Darla to us as our foundation bitch and Colindy was on the map.

Our first litter was in 2017 and Darla gave us 7 beautiful puppies.  Tank was the first born and he was my favorite from the start.  Amelia was the fifth in line and showed she was fearless from day one.  We kept these two and placed the other five puppies in wonderful homes where they have all been spoiled.  Tank went out on the show circuit with his favorite handler, Kristina Rock, and finished his championship at 19 months.  Our first home-bred champion!  Amelia has spent her time on the performance side.  She was jumping into water since she was 10 weeks old (yes, weeks not months).

Fast forward to 2021 and Amelia has given us three beautiful puppies to play with.  We will keep two but will have to place one when the right home comes along.  We are excited to see where these two will take us.
